Funk 2k were formed in the year 2000, after a group of musicians entered a battle of the bands competition (which they won). Just before they went on stage they were asked for their name, to which there was no reply. The host asked what music they played, “funk, soul, disco’ they responded; “OK,  it’s the year 2000, so you’re called Funk 2000” he replied and Funk 2k were officially born. 

Funk 2k are made up of music teachers and session musicians with many years of experience and a love for what they do!

They have played with many industry professionals, including Olly Murs, Alexandra O’Neil and Mike Reaves to name a few and, with over 15 years of experience, they really know how to entertain!

Funk 2k provide a brilliant service and work in partnership with a professional sound and lighting company, also responsible for providing entertainment systems to some of the biggest UK music festivals, to ensure the best possible sound quality and entertainment for any function.

Their repertoire consists of funk, disco, soul, pop, and a little rock ‘n’ roll (please see our repertoire page for further details). Funk 2k will also gladly learn your favourite song for the first dance on your special day or occasion.
